South Shore—Emerald Bay Tour

Emerald Bay, Lower Eagle Falls, Fallen Leaf Lake, Glen Alpine Falls

This half day tour departs from your location at 8:30am. This tour will focus on the best of Tahoe's South Shore areas. We will begin our tour at a beautiful Tahoe beach shadowed by the grand daddy of all Tahoe Peaks "Mt. Tallac." This area is also a wildlife sanctuary and you will see and photograph many species of local birds, other mammals and possibly even bears.

When in season, you will then be taken to view the amazing Tahoe Kokanee Salmon run. As the mountains and lakes beckon, we will continue our journey to Fallen leaf lake and beyond to the spectacular Glen Alpine falls. Above the falls another high country lake awaits our arrival. We will then climb 2,000 feet above Tahoe to a fire lookout which affords you a spectacular view of Lake Tahoe, Fallen Leaf Lake, Mt. Tallac, and the surrounding desolation wilderness. On to one of the most photographed locations in North America, Emerald Bay. You will be taken to the secret Emerald Bay spots where the photographic opportunities are limitless and there are many more raging waterfalls. We will explore the natural beauty of this glacier-carved masterpiece from many different points.
